Uluru and Kata Tjuta, Australia, apr 23 - apr 26, 2012

Uluru (Ayers Rock) is a magical place. No photo can do justice to its size or beauty. From every side it looks different and the red color changes in its intensity all the time. We did the base walk around Uluru which took 3.5h to complete! We also booked a "Sounds of Silence" dinner where we could watch the sunset on Uluru with canapés and champagne, then enjoy Australian food under the southern sky with explanation of the star formations. It was a bit touristy, but still a nice experience. We also visited the nearby Kata Tjuta (the Olgas). On a lovely walk into the Walpa Gorge lid up by the late afternoon sun we could enjoy the silence of this place and hear lots of different bird sounds
